‘Our manifestos match’: Henry Gomez discloses why his party chose to work with NPP

GPDP chief Henry Gomez has lifted the lid on why his party chose an alliance with President Adama Barrow’s National People’s Party.

He told The Fatu Network during NPP’s launching on Saturday: “Our manifestos match together. Our manifesto is saying equal rights and justice for everybody which means ‘mo beye balu’ – and this is what President Adama Barrow is giving the Gambian people. And also the two-term limit which is also in our manifesto and also gender equality is also in our manifesto.”

Some pundits have claimed GPDP’s bromance with NPP is a tactical move to ensure the party doesn’t die.

But the party’s leader Gomez has laughed at such claims saying: “We will never use NPP to survive. I think those who are saying this saw what happened in the congress of GPDP then they will know that GPDP is not a one-man show.”
