Gambia For Five Years applies for permit to march to IEC to submit petition against Rohey Lowe

Gambia For Five Years and Peace-building has applied for a permit from police to hold a press conference and a march on Friday.

The pro-President Barrow group wants to protest against Banjul Mayor Rohey Lowe’s authority to issue attestation.

The secretary general of the group Ebrima Sorie Bah confirmed to The Fatu Network that they have indeed applied for a permit.

Opinion has been split over the Mayor of Banjul Rohey Lowe being empowered by law to issue attestation as Banjul has no alkalo or chief.

While the mayor herself has insisted she was backed by law to issue the document, others have argued she represents a political and should not be in charge of the document.
