Sheriff Kijera is the director of the centre, he said the Truth Commission has done a perfect and wonderful job as demanded by the government. Noting that now they expect that the government honour its responsibility to implement the entire report.

Commending the TRRC for what he described as a fantastic job Mr Kijera revealed that the expectations of the victims are quite high.

“Unlike the Janneh Commission report which was treated with “selective justice”, the Truth Commission report should be treated with utmost significance to heal the wounds. and chart a new path for the country. We will not remain complacent to hold our government accountable to live up to expectation and implement the TRRC report,” Mr Kijera said.

The Gambia Centre for Victims of Human Rights Violations was formed to provide a safe environment that will help victims of human rights violations and their families get the truth, justice, and where applicable reparation.
