Veteran politician Sidia Jatta has told The Fatu Network President Adama Barrow told him UDP leader Ousainou Darboe told him (President Barrow) he must appoint him foreign minister.
Jatta played a key role in Coalition 2016 but declined to take a cabinet role when President Barrow ascended.
On circumstances around UDP leader Darboe’s appointment, Jatta said: “One day he (President Barrow) told me he wanted to make Ousainou Vice President. I didn’t say anything but I knew it would not happen because of his age. He called me the next day and told me he (Darboe) said he cannot be vice president but he said ‘good or bad I must make him foreign minister’.”
According to Jatta in the tell-all, hungry men pounced when positions were being handed out by the president.
