President Adama Barrow revealed on Monday the only person he spoke with every day was the late Inspector General of Police Mamour Jobe.
The president made the revelation while meeting with the family of Jobe and commiserating with them on the death of their loved one. Jobe died last month aged 61.
And the president while heaping praise on Jobe said he was the only person whom he spoke with each day.
The president said: “His death is a death of the whole nation, not just Jobe Kunda or Ballangar. Mamour was head of police but his role went beyond. In my government, I can say Mamour was the only person I spoke with every day. He calls me at 8:30am every morning.
“We would talk and sometimes we would talk again in the afternoon. So he was just my IGP but also my friend. And there was strong trust and respect between us.”
