President Adama Barrow warned his opponents against investing their money into a futile venture referring to the December election – as he declares he has won already.
At a huge rally in Banjul on Friday evening attended by thousands of Gambian youth, the president warned that any opponent who has already invested in the election should know he has just squandered his money.
The president said: “Except one lives in denial but everything [victory] is clear today. But you have people who are on the left and you have those who are on the right side in my government. But on the 4th of December, the sheep and the goats will stop living in the same house. That’s Gambia will know peace since everyone will keep quiet.
“Anyone who is President Barrow’s opposition should know we have decided the election already. In case there is someone who gave your 100,000 dollars [on the hope you’re going to win], you might as well save the money and use it to take care of your family. Because if you have invested the money into a business vis-a-vis this election, then you should know you have lost that.”
