Police say all records at Sanyang Police Station were burnt by protesters

Police have said all records at Sanyang Police Station were burnt after protesters attacked the station and set it on fire.

Youth of Sanyang took to the streets last week Monday following the fatal stabbing of Gibril Ceesay. The youth attacked the police station and set it on fire.

And according to police on Tuesday, “the building burnt down including all records, case exhibits, furniture and a Taxi Car parked at the station, was equally damaged”.

It comes as police disclosed the extent of the damage elsewhere due to the violent protests including the burning of nine fishing vessels and the looting of millions of dalasis.
