Police have announced a live firing exercise will be held on Thursday through Saturday.
In a statement, police said: “The office of the Inspector General of Police wishes to inform the general public, that it will conduct a life firing exercise at the Tintinba Firing Range behind Kanfenda Village in Foni Kansala, West Coast Region, for officers of the Police Intervention Unit on routine training exercise.
“The firing exercise will be conducted between Thursday 21st October 2021 and Saturday 23rd October 2021 at 08:00 hrs onwards.
“In this regard, members of the public particularly residents of Tintiba, Burock, Kanfenda, Dumbuto, Giramba, Darsilami, JomoKunda and surrounding villages are urged not to panic and should go about their normal businesses.
“In the same vein, residents within the surroundings of the aforementioned villages of the Firing Range are advised to completely avoid the area for safety reasons.”
