MP Saikou Marong has said President Adama Barrow will win the December election – even as he admitted the UDP’s meeting in Sukuta was successful.
The Latrikunda Sabiji MP made this comment during an exclusive interview with The Fatu Network.
The MP said: “To be honest their meeting in Sukuta was a very very successful meeting. But if you ask me, Hon Darboe who is the flagbearer of UDP is used to pulling crowd. What happens in UDP is when they are going out, they go with their votes.
“For example, the meeting at Sukuta in KM, if they have 100 votes, they have gone with 85 votes. Their meeting was successful but is that a winning crowd? How many people are expected to vote? We are talking about 962,000 people [and] you organise a meeting that is even less than 100,000 people and you’re talking that as a yardstick saying that you have already won the election?
“Let’s go to December. On the 4th of December, we will know whether he (President Barrow) is popular or not. Because he is going to emerge as the winner. I am 100% sure that he is going to win.”
