President Adama Barrow has announced he will contest the December presidential election – in a manifesto seen by The Fatu Network.
President Barrow arrived at the Independence Stadium Saturday evening to preside over the official launching of his National People’s Party.
And in the party’s manifesto seen by The Fatu Network, the president speaking there said ‘I’m standing by the people of this country to contest as a presidential candidate and head of state of the third republic of The Gambia’.
“The reality is that I cannot abandon you nor can I betray your trust,” the president said in the manifesto.
He also said: “Worse still, I cannot ignore the instinctive patriotic calling deep inside me and fail to put my services at your disposal.”
