Gambia medicines watchdog conducts raids on street medicine vendors, seven are arrested

The Medicines Control Agency has said seven people have been arrested amid a crackdown on street medicine vendors.

“The recent exercise was conducted on the 12th of May 2021, which led to the arrest of seven peddlers. The culprits are currently being processed at the Banjul Police Station for prosecution,” MCA said in a statement signed by executive director Markieu Janneh Kaira.

MCA is the medicine watchdog responsible for the manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, use and advertisement of medicines in the country.
