Guinea junta have been given only six months by the Ecowas heads of state for elections to be held and the country returns to civilian rule.
Ecowas leaders travelled to Guinea on Thursday for talks with Colonel Mamady Doumbouya after he arrested Alpha Conde.

Speaking to reporters in Ghana, Ecowas commission president Jean Claude Kassi Brou said: “Looking now at the political situation and the way forward, the heads of state insisted that the transition must be very short and they even went to the way of clearly stating that the transition shall not last more than six months.”
