Imam Bakawsu Fofana was at UDP leader Ousainou Darboe’s office on Saturday morning to pray for the party’s officials as they final get the ball rolling on their campaign.
UDP will cross to Barra at 1pm on Saturday for their presidential campaign – and Imam Fofana has boldly predicted leader Darboe will be president next month.
“If Allah wills it, he (Darboe) is the president next month,” Imam Fofana said at Darboe’s office on Saturday.
According to Imam Fofana, he was invited to Mr Darboe’s office to pray for the party as officials head out for campaign.
He said: “Since the start of this election, no leader visited me to say he wants me to pray for him to become president except Darboe. He came up to my house and yesterday we were in telephone calls that they are travelling today and I should come and pray for them. So it could now be I am UDP’s since they hold me in high regard. I am neutral but the person who thinks of me highly owns me.
“But I love you all and to pray for peace for all of you. I am at UDP’s meeting today since I am worth it for them. And I am praying for them to get what they want and they will get it since Bakawsu is a big marabout. And next month you all will say that Bakawsu is indeed a marabout whose prayers do come to pass since you will get what you want.”
