UDP leader Ousainou Darboe has warned President Adama Barrow against any attempt at destroying UDP, as the political row between father and son deepens.
Speaking in Farafenni on Sunday, Mr Darboe said: “You said we are hypocrites and you will wipe out United Democratic Party in this country. But the person who said that which is Adama Barrow… Because he called me by my name and said, ‘my father Ousainou Darboe, I will end United Democratic Party’. And he said it in Farafenni here.
“Adama Barrow I want to remind you the day myself, Lamin Dambung Dibba, Aji Yam Secka and your Karamo Jadama at State House at 5 o’clock, the day I told you we would show anyone who wanted to disintegrate UDP that he cannot do it.
“So if you said you are going to wipe out UDP, I can tell you, you don’t have the competence, the prayers and the intelligence. I can assure you also anyone who wants to wipe out UDP in this country will be wiped out himself. Yahya Jammeh tried it and we saw how he ended.”
