Coach Lie Bojang and his charges are set to fulfill their task given by the Gambia Football Federation to qualify the Baby Scorpions to the Total Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in Tanzania 2019.
The Gambia is joined with Mali and Liberia and will open its account on Sunday September 9 at the Stade Alassane Djigo at 6:30pm.
The two finalists from the qualifiers will sail through to the final tournament in Tanzania.
The Gambia, one of four successful nations in the U-17 with two titles, appeared in the U-17 four times, winning the championship twice in 2005, when it hosted it and in 2009 in Algeria.
The qualifiers for the U-17 will for the first time play on a regional basis to determine the seven teams to join hosts Tanzania for next year’s final tournament.
