Ramadan: SIC issues statement over search for the moon

The Supreme Islamic Council has issued a statement asking the nation’s Muslims to contact its officials if they got any information about the moon.

Gambian Muslim will likely join the rest of the world’s Muslim on Tuesday to observe this year’s Ramadan.

In a statement signed by President Sheikh Essa Darboe, the SIC urged all Muslims to help officials with information regarding the moon.

Monday has been appointed as the date for Muslims to look to the sky for the new moon.
