President Adama Barrow has repeated his vow of retiring his father UDP leader Ousainou Darboe from politics next he can sit at home and be going to the mosque.

Speaking to his supporters on Thursday after his nomination which was done in style, the president said: “I want to tell Gambians my father stands and says I betrayed him. But I want to take Gambians back in history. On the 8th of November 2016 when I was nominated and came here, I spoke and took a vow that if you vote for me and I win I will free Ousainou Darboe from prison and make him minister.

“I then made him minister of heaven and earth, I made him vice president and gave him all the powers. I have done all of that for him. I have fulfilled all my vows so between him and I who did not fulfill his promise? So my father Lawyer Ousainou Darboe is the one who did not fulfil his promise.

“But it’s said ‘you own all of this’, only for you to show you are not content with that, you will not be satisfied even if you are to eat everything.

“But we will tell my father that on the 4th of December, Gambians and his oldest son will retire him so he can sit home and be going to the mosque while he receives his pension.”
