People’s Progressive Party has issued a statement greeting the nation’s Christians over Christmas.
The statement signed by PRO Ebrima Savage reads;
On the occasion of Christmas and New Year, the entire PPP party wishes our Christian brothers and sisters a very joyous Christmas and New Year celebrations. This year, due to Covid-19 might make it hard to meet your family and dear ones on this day. But Covid-19 should not take away the joy of this festival.
It has been in our tradition that both Christians and Muslims celebrate and honour each other feast yearly, this has demonstrated the religious tolerance of Gambians, and we must continue to nurture and guard such a tradition jealously.
In this regard, we wish every Christian a happy and enjoyable Christmas and Happy New Year in advance. We must all continue to pray for unity, peace, prosperity, love, and harmony.
May the almighty continue to bless the Gambia Merry-Christmas and prosperous New Year 2021.
