‘My wife has since left’: Lamin Jobe testifies Jammeh’s army of NIA helpers placed live wire on his private parts leaving him permanently impotent

Lamin Jobe has told the TRRC operatives of the National Intelligence Agency now State Intelligence Service placed live wire on his private parts leaving him impotent.

Lamin Jobe testified at the TRRC on Monday as part of a broad investigation into the human rights violations and abuses that took place during former president Yahya Jammeh’s rule. He was among scores of Gambians who were arrested, detained and tortured by agents of then-National Intelligence Agency.

Mr Jobe told the TRRC, of his detention and subsequent torture: “They placed electricity on my private part and electrocuted me. And that was what Foday (of the agents who tortured him) meant by saying I would be useless to my wife.

“My wife had since left. Counsel, I will not be able to tell you. I am finish[ed]. Because that’s still with me and if we enter a bathroon I can show it to you, the scars.”
