The government in its bid to prevent the new strain from arriving in the country has now introduced new rules.

The health minister in a statement on Tuesday said the new rules will go into effect on 9 January and they will target travellers.

“These travellers must undergo mandatory quarantine at their own cost,” the minister said, adding they will also have to undergo new COVI9-19 test upon their arrival in the conuntry.

The travellers must also have certificates that show they’re COVID-19 negative four days before their travel into the country.
