General Lang Tombong Tamba has reacted to former President Yahya Jammeh’s fiat of last Friday which saw the former dictator dismissed the leaders of APRC and named new leaders.
Jammeh called his supporters under the banner of the No Alliance Movement from Equatorial Guinea and told them he did not approve the APRC’s executive to enter into an alliance with NPP. He then dismissed Fabakary Tombong Jatta and his team and replaced them with new leaders.
But speaking at President Adama Barrow’s rally in Sukuta on Saturday, General Lang Tombong Tamba said: “Your Excellency, his close relatives said we should tell you they are with you today and tomorrow. A human being must accept God’s will. So every one should accept your position is given to you by God.
“If former President Jammeh doesn’t want you, that is his problem. Yahya Jammeh doesn’t own the people, people own themselves. So we want to tell you we the people of Foni are behind you today and tomorrow. Yahya Jammeh is history. Let’s put Yahya Jammeh’s affair behind us and move on.”
