Police on Tuesday paraded 14 people after they were arrested over various offences among them burglary.
“Prominent among them is one individual called Babucarr Camara alias Ratty. He is one of the frequent visitors of this unit here, police anti-crime unit. Reason for this is because he is all the time involved in house breaking and stealing and today the flat screens you have seen here, about two or three of them are being recovered from this individual,” police spokesman Superintendent Lamin Njie told reporters at the police anti-crime unit in Bijilo Tuesday afternoon.
Ratty who is said to be a one time beneficiary of the presidential pardon was paraded alongside 13 others including Assan Conteh who police say always had a cutlass.
Spokesman Njie said: “Also we have another individual among them called Assan Conteh. He is also very notorious for house breaking and stealing and so in recent time he’s arrested for robbing somebody with violence.
“Because if you look at the materials we see here, there is a cutlass among them. This cutlass was recovered from Assan.”
Among the stolen properties are one solar panel, eight flat-screen TVs, one gas cooker and two vehicles.
