The Gambia’s time at the WAFU U-17 Championship in Senegal is following its disqualification by the Confederation of African Football CAF.
The Gambia Football Federation said on Tuesday its delegation at the championship received a “letter from the WAFU Executive Director that CAF has disqualified the Gambia U-17 Team because some player(s) failed the Competition MRI Test without specifying the name of number of players”.
“The Federation would like to state that all our players that are taking part the Competition were tested and passed the test by the CAF medical personnel.
“The GFF is protesting/appeal against the decision and the general public will be informed accordingly,” the federation said in a statement.
