Fake marabout arrested with many bundles of cannabis in Sanyang

Police on Monday confirmed arresting a 36-year-old man who allegedly uses the ‘marabout’ profession as cover to ply his cannabis trade.

Police anti-crime raided the fake marabout’s shrine on May 3.

Police spokesman Lamin Njie told The Fatu Network: “The Anti Crime Unit during patrols on the 3rd May 2021, arrested Mass Joof, 36 year old Senegalese at Sanyang Village, Kombo South.

“He was found to be a fraudulent marabout involved in dealing with suspected cannabis. Bundles of suspected cannabis were recovered from his possession.

“He is helping with investigations.”
