An alleged land dealer con artist has been taken to hospital after he was mercilessly beaten by an angry mob.
A video of land dealer Ismaila Cham from Sukuta being beaten by individuals who claim he was into the business of duping people emerged online on Saturday.
Police said Sunday the Office of the Inspector General of Police has “learned with grave concern a video circulating on social media in which an individual was severely beaten for allegedly selling a plot of land to different people”.
Police said: “This act of torture and degrading treatment is seriously condemned and frowned upon as it has no place in any civilized society.
“The public is hereby informed that two individuals Musa Kanuteh and Musa Touray have been arrested in connection to the act of torture. They are currently helping police in their investigations.
“The victim has been taken to hospital for medical attention.
“The public is further advice to report matters to the appropriate authorities for redress and never must they take the law into their own hands.”
