The Secretary General of the Association of Imams and Ulemas of Senegal said he was the victim of an attack on his office on Wednesday, according to local media.
Imam Oumar Diene was allegedly assaulted by a man in his office who later fled after guards intervened, according to Senego.

According to Senego, Diene’s assault comes as he got controversially chosen to replace Mourchi Ahmed Iyane Thiam at the National Commission for the Lunar Crescent (CONACOC).
The incident allegedly happened Wednesday morning.
