The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has announced that its proposed friendly international with former President Jammeh host country, Guinea Equatorial earlier planned to take place in Spain is called off.
The cancellation, according to the GFF, is necessitated by unforeseen circumstances beyond their control. “However, the Scorpions are still scheduled to be in action in November during the international break and an alternative opponents are being arranged by the GFF Executive. Any inconvenience to this change of arrangements is deeply regretted,” the GFF said.
The match was scheduled for Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Marbella Football Centre Stadium in Spain. The Gambia would have used the friendly as its final technical preparatory game ahead of the resumption of the 2019 AFCON qualifier at home to Algeria in March 2018 when the Scorpions will host the Desert Foxes at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
