President Barrow uses executive power to declare Wednesday and Thursday public holiday on the occasion of Eidul Fitr

State House on Tuesday said President Adama Barrow acting under section 76 of the 1997 Constitution is ‘pleased’ to declare Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th May 2021 as Public Holidays throughout the country in observance of the Feast of Eid-ul-Fitr to mark the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.

President Barrow wishes all Gambians at home and abroad a happy and joyous Eid Celebration, State House said in a terse statement.

It comes as Saudi Arabia announced Eid will be on Thursday in the country after astronomers failed to sight the moon.
