Gambia Democratic Congress (GDC) under the leadership of Mamma Kandeh said on Thursday they’re joining all Christians in the Gambia and abroad in the remembrance of the birth of Jesus Christ.
“We thank and praise him for the life he lived as a mercy to all,” a statement issued by the party said.
The statement said more: “As a people we must not only remember his birth but also his teachings, love and affection to the poor and needy and more importantly his manners, that he never was a curse to anyone.
“People were save from his tongue, hands and power while those who went close to him were shown a right and just way.
“We take this opportunity to remind all Gambians that we must celebrate such birth of a great prophet, and in doing so we must live side by side in peace and warmly share the little we have with those that are less privilege or may not have at all, thus was the life of Jesus Christ.
“May we witness many more celebrations in peace and that 2021 brings us progress, peace and prosperity as a nation. Merry Christmas to you all.”
