Gambians are asked not to panic as army announces fresh training for troops

The army said today it will conduct a field training exercise for troops begininning November 18 through November 20.

The field exercise will take place in the general areas of Yundum, Banjulinding, Sinchu Alagie, Old Yundum and Yarambamba starting 6am daily.

“The training will involve movement of troops and the use of blank ammunition most especially around the general area,” the army said in a statement.

It added: “The inhabitants of the above mentioned villages are therefore urged to go on with their normal daily activities and should not panic as this is a routine exercise.”
