First anniversary of Sarjo Barrow’s death: Star FM/TV says fallen Mandinka newsman left behind important lessons

Star FM/TV has paid tribute to Sarjo Barrow a year since the top Mandinka newsman died.

Mr Barrow died on December 22, 2019 aged 66.

Star FM/TV in a statement on Wednesday said “we continue to remember the great man he was and all that he has given to us”.

“Alhaji Sarjo was a man of the people and helped to build this nation he loved. Over this past year we have heard so many of your stories and it is amazing to see how many lives he has influenced not only through his work but also his everyday life.

“He left us all with so many important lessons learned but what was most important to him was the importance of always having faith in what you believe.

“Alhaji Sarjo, left a legacy that has inspired us to build a Museum and Library in his honor. We are more committed than ever to see this project through and we look forward to the day we can welcome you all inside to explore.

“This year has been difficult but we want to thank you all for your continued support and encouragement. Thank you for continuing to honor his legacy through your stories and friendship,” the organisation said in a statement.
