Former Information Minister DA Jawo said on Wednesday the Minister of Interior Yankuba Sonko has no choice but to either resign or be sacked.
Former officer commanding investigation at the NIA Aziz Hydara told the TRRC Wednesday Yankuba Sonko led a team that deliberately deleted every available information on the movement of scores of West African migrants who were murdered in the country back in 2005 on the orders of former President Yahya Jammeh.
According to DA Jawo, Sonko’s role as interior minister seems to now be untenable.
He wrote on Wednesday: “Interior Minister Yankuba Sonko’s position seems to be untenable after being implicated for not only participating in a cover up in the killing of the West African migrants but for lying to the TRRC.
“He has no choice but to either resign or be sacked.”
