Nani Juwara has replaced Alpha Robinson as acting managing director of National Water and Electricity Company, sources have told The Fatu Network.
Alpha Robinson has been sacked as NAWEC chief one year after he took over leadership of NAWEC.
Multiple sources including from inside NAWEC have confirmed his deputy Nani Juwara is now the new leader of NAWEC.
NAWEC has in the past weeks been struggling to serve uninterrupted power and water to Gambians.
The presidency spokeswoman Amie Bojang Sissoho could not be immediately reached for comment while officials at the ministry of energy could not also confirm with certainty that Mr Robinson has been handed the chop.
The Fatu Network understand Mr Robinson has been redeployed amid his removal.
