Alagie Sanyang speaks after reporting to police over charges he made against Rambo

APRC’s Alagie Sanyang said on Wednesday he met with Ousman Rambo Jatta at the police headquarters in Banjul where they both wrote statements.

Mr Sanyang had alleged Rambo bribed him D30,000 and told him former President Yayha Jammeh was ill and will never step foot in The Gambia. An unhappy Rambo then lodged a complaint with police against him.

But Mr Sanyang said in a video on Wednesday: “I met our first deputy party leader here at the police station. He made his statement and I also made my statement. The police made their investigation and then told me they have nothing that could warrant them to detain me for now.

“They said they would continue with their investigation but if Rambo wants to take me to court, he can do so.”
