Three men namely, Momodou Basiru Saidykhan Sarjo Signateh and Alhagie Kujabi, Monday, August 28, appeared in court to answer charges of assault causing actual bodily harm contrary to section 228 of the criminal code and Libel contrary to section 178 of the criminal code.

On the 22nd of August, the three men caught a man name-withheld accused of stealing stripped him naked and publicly flogged him. His captors recorded the video which went viral attracting strong reaction from Gambians.
When contacted Police Public Relation Officer Inspector Foday Conta, confirmed the story saying the three were arrested last Friday in Bijilo and will answer to the charges against them in court today.
