‘He’s fully alive’: Independent Electoral Commission tells nation its Czar is alive and still at the helm at Election House

Independent Electoral Commission has said in a terse statement on Tuesday its chairman Alieu Momar Njie is alive, hours after his death was reported.

Reports of Mr Njie’s passing emerged on Monday.

“The commission wishes to emphatically state that its chairman is fully alive, well and still at the helm of affairs at the IEC,” Election House said in a statement as it also said it got reports of the octogenarian’s death with ‘utter’ shock and dismay.
