President Adama Barrow on Thursday visited Basse market, the epicentre of a devastating fire.

A huge fire engulfed Basse market on Monday destroying the entire market, and Mr Barrow’s visit comes as he arrived in the Upper River Region on Wednesday ahead of his much-touted infrastructural projects launch.
President Barrow did not go to the doomed market empty-handed as it has emerged he has donated two million dalasis to the fire victims.
It also comes after UDP and GDC led by their party leaders gave D400,000 and D200,000 to the victims.
