Two men Gibril Badjie and Ansu Badjie, supporters of former President, Yahya Jammeh’s Alliance For Patriotic Reorientation and Construction Party (APRC) have been arrested by the police and are currently under custody at the Police Headquarters in Banjul.
Gibril was arrested in Brikama while Ansu was arrested in Sabi village, Upper River Region. Their arrest is in connection with a WhatsApp group they created called ‘One Voice’ on which they record and share voice messages around.
Assistant Superintendent Foday Conta, Police PRO told The Fatu Network that the two men were involved  in a conduct that can tantamount to incitement of violence.
“They used WhatsApp to castigate and insult people and didn’t stop at one person but went further to insult certain political parties and individuals.” PRO Conta said
Although the police spokesman did not say which political parties and individuals they insulted, he added that bail is available for them. “ At the moment they are charged with prohibition of conduct.”
