Prince Charles Arrives Gambia Tomorrow

Prince of Wales Charles and his wife Camilla will arrive in the country on Wednesday as part of a major nine-day tour of Africa.

The UK royals are visiting the country for the first time after a request by the British government. The couple will later tour Ghana and Nigeria.

The visit is expected to attracted strong media attention with up to 30 media organizations including international media expressing interest to cover the event.

Charles and Camilla will during the visit meet President Adama Barrow. The couple will also visit the MRC Gambia Unit.

Who is Prince Charles

Charles is the eldest son of The Queen and Prince Philip who is the Duke of Edinburgh. He was born at Buckingham Palace on 14th November 1948. He was invested as Prince of Wales by The Queen on 1st July 1969 at Caernarfon Castle. Before the investiture, The Prince had spent a term at the University College of Wales at Aberystwyth, learning to speak Welsh. On 11th February 1970, His Royal Highness took his seat in the House of Lords.
